Day wise Itinerary of Coorg Ooty Tour

Day 1: Bangalore - Coorg

Arrive at Bangalore airport or railway station by 10 AM. Drive towards Coorg. Our first stop will be at Bylakuppe which has the largest Tibetan settlement in South India. Visit the Namdroling Monastery and the popular Golden Temple here.

Next, we stop at Kaveri Nisargadhama, which is a small river island formed by River Kaveri. This is a Forest Park maintained by the forest department of Karnataka and has many attractions for its visitors. From boating activities, to hanging bridge, to various children play areas, fun elephant rides, deer park, rabbit enclosures and so on.

In the evening, you will arrive at Madikeri which is the district capital of Coorg. Check-in to a hotel and relax.

Day 2: Coorg Sightseeing

We start our day today by taking a long drive to Talacauvery (also spelled Talakaveri). This is the birth place of River Cauvery and is considered sacred by the locals. A small temple is constructed around the birth place of the river. You will enjoy beautiful views of the think forests of Coorg. Behind the temple is a small hillock. After climbing about 300 steps, you will get stunning views on the other side of the hill as well. On a clear day, you can even spot Arabian Sea which is more than 150 km by road!!

After enjoying the time at Talakaveri, on our way back, we make a brief halt at Bhagamandala. The Triveni Sangam is a popular spot here, where you can find the confluence of 3 rivers (including one underground river).

Drive back to Madikeri and visit Abbey Falls, which is located in a private coffee estate. Later, drive to Raja's Seat to enjoy the beautiful sunset.

Return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 3: Coorg - Ooty

After checking out of hotel, we pay a visit to Omkareshwar Temple in Madikeri. Later, we will start our drive to Ooty, which is in the neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu.

We will be passing through several places of interest during our journey. The first place you will encounter is Bandipur National Park, where you can spot peacocks, deers, wild boars from the comfort of your seats!

Later, we cross over to Tamil Nadu, and the forest continues as Mudumalai Tiger Reserve. We continue our drive towards Ooty. On the way, we will drive through Eucalyptus Forest and visit Pykara Falls, Film Shooting Spot, Kamraj Lake.

Reach Ooty by late evening. Checkin to a hotel and relax.

Day 4: Ooty Sightseeing

Start our day early to witness amazing views from Doddabetta, the highest peak of Nilgiris. Later, we drive through the tea gardens to reach Botanical Gardens.

Take a toy train ride to Coonoor and later visit Lamb's Rock, Coonoor Tea Gardens and Dolphin's Nose. In the evening, head back to Ooty for overnight stay.

Day 5: Ooty - Bangalore drop

Checkout of hotel early in the morning. Visit Ooty Lake and then start your drive back to Bangalore. It takes about 7-8 hours to reach Bangalore.

Depending on your flight/train timings, we will drop you to airport or railway station.
